Timothy’s Story

Tim wasn’t surprised when a wellness checkup revealed his PSA was high and further testing determined he had prostate cancer. Knowing that his grandfather, father, and brother had all been diagnosed with the disease he was aware of the risks and of the importance of evaluating his treatment options. Tim initially underwent surgery to remove the prostate gland. When the cancer recurred, he spoke with several doctors and decided that radiation therapy using the TomoTherapy® System was the right choice for him. He was impressed by his medical team’s experience and the precision with which they said the system delivers radiation. Throughout Tim’s treatment he was supported by his wife and a long-time friend with whom he recorded a video message. It speaks to the powerful potential of dedicated clinicians, advanced technology and, importantly, friendship, and seeks to provide inspiration and hope to other men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
